metadata file fixed field length

Creating a Metadata File Using a Data File with…

  • by Susan Gegner

This demonstration shows how to create a metadata file for a data file with fixed field lengths. Metadata files contain the definitions of data sources or targets such as flat files, database tables and pipes. The metadata that we create can be used for defining multiple data sources and targets used in job scripts. This demonstration is done using the IRI Workbench Development Environment GUI built on Eclipse and creates metadata files or data definition files also known as DDFs.
